Northern AGS Group is awarded RHS Farrer Medal

The Alpine Garden Society is delighted to be able to announce that the RHS has awarded the 2021 Farrer Trophy to the AGS Northern Group. The Farrer Trophy is awarded for the best exhibition of plants suitable for the rock garden or alpine house at an RHS show.

The award is a testament to the co-operation and joint endevours of a host of people from the East Cheshire and the three Lancashire groups of the AGS. Under the patient management of Mike Morgan (very ably assisted by his wife Jennie) our members have built and manned a display of alpines in pots and troughs at the RHS Tatton Park Show in July 2021. We wish to thank everyone for their contributions.

Mike Morgan and Razvan Chisu from the East Cheshire group collected the trophy on March 7th as part of the RHS Awards Ceremony at their headquarters at Vincent Square in London.

East Cheshire & Lancashire AGS groups win gold medal at 2021 Tatton Flower Show, celebrating 90 years of the society

The group also won the Holford Award in 2018 and they are already planning another display for Tatton this year.
