Come and visit the Alpine Garden Society’s lovely display garden, find out about growing alpines and get lots of ideas for your own garden.

We are opening our garden on the grounds of Pershore college for the National Garden Scheme charity on:
Wednesday 15 May 2024 11am – 4pm.

The garden contains a wide range of alpine plants that are easy to grow in contemporary gardens over a long season. Visitors can see different settings and ways to grow alpines, including rock and tufa, a scree, a dry Mediterranean bed, and both shade and sunny areas. There is also a dedicated alpine house, and many pots and troughs with alpines and small bulbs.

Volunteers will be on hand for more information and trough planting demonstrations held on some days.

Enjoy light refreshments and cakes, plants for sale plus a wide selection of gardening books. Free parking at Pershore College car park.

Entrance £4 per adult, children free.

If members can offer any help to support us on these dates please get in touch with Gail Devries: gaildevries@agsgroups.org

We will need helpers on the gate, to help with light refreshments and run the plant stall. Once again, we kindly ask you to bring spare plants for sale (proceeds will be split on a 75-25 basis between the growers and the AGS).

We also need volunteers to be on hand in the garden to speak to visitors and offer practical advice. Even if you cannot attend the open days you could perhaps propagate plants for sale or make cake!

With your help and support we can successfully promote alpine plants and our Society to the general public!
