Find below a list of our forthcoming zoom presentations that the East Lancashire Group have arranged for your delectation up to Christmas 2021 and the procedure that you can use to subscribe/donate to this irresistible lecture package.

  • We begin our quartet of zoom meetings on Monday 13th September at 7.30pm with a beautifully illustrated talk on ‘Crevice Gardening’ by Paul Cumbleton from Somerset starting at 7.30pm (zoom doors open at 7pm for general chat).
  • Monday October 4th (Please note: This is the first Monday of the month and not our normal second Monday) sees a fascinating look at ‘China –  Beyond the Crowds’ with Scotland’s Richard Green … a visual delight that must not be missed.
  • On Monday 8th November we will be thoroughly entertained by renowned international speaker, Anne Spiegel from New York State, USA with her very personal look at rock gardening on an epic scale entitled ‘Gardening on Rock – A Tale of Two Gardens’.
  • Then, on Monday 13th December, we celebrate 35 years of the East Lancashire Group of the Alpine Garden Society with a brand new celebrity lecture by the wonderful Jim Jermyn from Branklyn Garden in Perth, entitled ‘European Alpines in Nature – A New Look’.
This is, you must admit, a stunning series of zoom presentations that have been organised for your alpine gratification and we hope to welcome you all back to our North-West ‘bubble’ – with the expectancy of further zoom meetings in 2022 and, hopefully, some live get-togethers in the Ramsbottom area as soon as Covid conditions and regulations allow.
To subscribe to all four zoom presentations (en bloc) you must please follow these instructions to the letter … zoom administration is a tricky business, especially where local, national and international parties are involved … and we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on this opportunity by filling out their details incorrectly.

As you will no doubt remember, during the season just gone we reacted to the financial pressures of the epidemic by permitting access to our zoom series for a donation to the substantial accumulative costs of lecturer’s fees and zoom charges and this worked exceptionally well (thank you all), but it was felt that the few who made very generous donations carried those who gifted nothing, so for the sake of fairness and equal opportunity we have decided to offer you all four of these stunning zoom presentations for the single fee of £8 per participating household (that works out that a couple watching at home will only have to pay £1 per person for each talk … that is wonderful value in any language).  Should you feel able to support us further and help us to offer more zoom presentations in the months (and hopefully years) to come then we would welcome and greatly appreciate whatever extra you can afford.
