The East Lancashire Group of the Alpine Garden Society Zoom Programme Autumn 2022
May we take this opportunity to thank you all once again for your welcome support for our 2022 Spring Quartet of Zooms … we hope you all enjoyed and appreciated our excellent lectures and the chance to connect with and chat to other friendly alpine growers from around the world. It was certainly fun for us to spread the alpine vibe to fellow enthusiasts both near and far.  Many thanks to our speakers for their time, their expertise and such highly entertaining programmes.
As a Group, we have already booked four more amazing lecturers for the forthcoming season and attached below you will find the full lecture/subscription details and dates for our Autumn/Winter Quartet of Zooms, when we will welcome four more titans of the rock gardening pantheon from various countries.
The new Zoom season begins on Monday 26th September 2022 with a fascinating lecture by USA (Washington State) based gardening expert; Linda Cochran on ‘Discovering and Cultivating Showy Native Plants in the Pacific North-West’.  Linda maintained an excellent illustrated Blog on her garden and plant favourites up until 2016 entitled ‘Linda Cochran’s Garden – Notes from Froggy Bottom and beyond’ and this can be viewed and enjoyed at the following link:-
Zoom doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Please mark this date on your calendar. This is just the first of four magnificent zoom presentations in the run up to Christmas and all four can be watched by subscribing just £8 per household.  Should you feel able to support us further with a small donation, then that would also be greatly appreciated and would ensure that we can contemplate further Zoom Quartets over the seasons ahead.

The East Lancashire Group of the Alpine Garden Society is trying (but struggling) to rebuild itself after the devastating effects and the isolation of the pandemic and to this end we will resume in-person meetings on Monday 12th September 2022 back at Ramsbottom Civic Hall, BL0 9AJ, when we will present an illustrated lecture by Group and Committee MemberKylie Hodges from Bury on the Plants of Tasmania – from the Mountains to the  Sea – Discoveries and Practicalities’ … full details below.  Although further meetings are already booked for October and November our long term future will depend on the availability & costs of the hall and actual attendances after such a prolonged absence … our future is very much in your hands!!!!
