The next day I caught the bus to Hintertux...10 euros and worth it.

Starting off up the Waterfall route I soon left the crowds behind. Common spoted orchid was the most common plant...almost like a bistort

Waterfalls had featured everyday but in this case the path followed it with view points and bridges

Plants along the way...'harebells', Geranium sylvaticum, Alpenrose

Above the tree line: Soldanella pusilla, Primula minima, what appeared to be Primula glutinosa, though pink rather than a vibrant blue.

By now at about 1pm the clouds are descending so I divert to a major 'road' to the Sommerbergbahn. Just above are the caves of the Spannagel area. These are in the rock and have been worn by glacier melt working through marble bands (according to the information) so not all is acidic.

On the way down areas of scree are covered with large white daisies though close inspection showed some were Dryas octopetala!

A good value lift pass took me down in time to get the bus just as the rain stared. By the time we reached Mayrhofen we had a big electric storm and some of the heaviest rainfall I have known.
