Iris iberica ssp lycotis

Doug and I decided to use a cream background to see if we could capture how the light shines through the veins of these flowers.

Iris iberica ssp lycotis
Allium nevskianum

Exhibited by Cecilia Coller; always a favourite of mine.

Allium nevskianum
Allium shelkovnikovii

This pan, exhibited by Ivor Betteridge, was awarded the Ashwood Trophy for the best plant in a 19cm pot.

Allium shelkovnikovii
Aquilegia scopulorum

Moving slowly along the small pan classes. This pretty aquilegia was exhibited by Peter Farkasch.

Aquilegia scopulorum
Campanula sosnovskyi

Exhibited by Martin and Anna Sheader. A bit of a challenge to photograph in the gusty breeze which blew through the hall all day.

Campanula sosnovskyi
Erigeron scopulinus

Exhibited by David Richards

Erigeron scopulinus
Leptinella dendyi

Exhibited by Barry Winter. I don't know that I have seen this with as much flower as this before.

Leptinella dendyi
Paris quadrifolia

Exhibited by Dave Charlton. This brought back memories. I still remember finding it in a wood on the South Downs when I was about 12 (so a very long time ago !)

Paris quadrifolia
Pinguicula grandiflora

Another native plant, this time exhibited by Wilma and Jim Wright. I have only seen it once in the wild, in the Yorkshire Dales.

Pinguicula grandiflora
Calceolaria Sunset

Exhibited by Sonia Morris. This didn't meet with universal approval. I heard one exhibitor complain that it was a 'houseplant', but what an attractive one.
