Autumn Conference & AGM 2019

This year’s AGS conference, which runs alongside our Annual General Meeting, will take place on 16-17 November.

This year’s theme is ‘Celebrating 90 Years of Alpine Gardening’ to mark the start of our 90th anniversary year.

The venue for 2019 is the four star Stratford Manor Hotel. Set in 22 acres of stunning grounds, the hotel is just minutes from historic and picturesque Stratford-upon-Avon.

This year’s E.B. Anderson Memorial Lecture at the AGM will be given by Robert Rolfe.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM is open to all members and attendance is free. It will take place on Saturday 16 November 2019. Full details will appear in the next issue of the AGS Newsletter and here on the website in due course.

Conference

Conference speakers on the Saturday include Harry Jans on 25 years since the ACE expedition, Alex O’Sullivan (2018/19 Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh trainee) talks about his year in the botanic garden and Dr. Andreas Groger (scientific curator of Munich Botanic Garden).

Sunday’s speakers include Brian Burrow looking back at notable plants, John Fielding on the plants of Crete and Steve Furness explains ‘How not to build a Rock Garden’!

Two day residential delegates

£199 for one night with breakfast in a shared room at the Stratford Manor Hotel, two hot buffet lunches and three course Conference Dinner.

£230 for one night with breakfast in a single room at the Stratford Manor Hotel, two hot buffet lunches and three course Conference Dinner.

Day delegates

£53 for Saturday including lunch; £68 for Sunday including lunch.
