Zoom lecture 29 April: Hester Forde – A tale of shade

You pay: £9.00 (Members pay: £0.00)

This talk will take place on Tuesday, 29 April 2025 at 7pm BST

Passionate gardener, nursery owner, lecturer, galanthophile and organiser of the Irish Snowdrop Gala, Hester Forde will focus in this talk on plants for shade. Her Cork garden, Coosheen, features many rare and unusual perennials, alpines, and bulbs. The suburban garden includes small trees and woodland plants for year-round charm. Get inspired to enrich your shaded garden spaces with her advice.

In her words: “The wonder of a woodland garden is that it looks as if plants grow there by themselves. Whether your garden is open and sunny or on the small side you can create a sylvan atmosphere with carefully chosen trees and shade loving plants. This lecture takes an in depth look at plants and combinations that thrive in the shade.”
