This month we welcome new Director, Tony Bryan, into the Alpine Garden Society fold.
March 2020 marks the start of a new chapter in the AGS’s story. This month, we bid a fond farewell to former Director Christine McGregor, who was our shining light for 18 years. In her place, we welcome our new Director, Tony Bryan.
Tony has 30 years of experience in retail horticulture. Before joining the AGS, he was General Manager of Dobbies Garden Centre in Cirencester. He’s worked for Blooms of Bressingham, Country Gardens, Blue Diamond and as a Regional Manager for Wyevale Garden Centres.
However, Tony found that garden centres were increasingly moving away from plants. So, he’s relishing the chance to get back to his passion.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to work for an organisation that is passionate about plants
Tony sees the Society’s online presence as vital in helping it engage with a younger audience. He and Christine worked as a team to appoint a new Web and Social Media Editor when Laura Armstrong left in January.
Tony said “I am keen to raise the Society’s profile across social media with the help of our newly appointed Web and Social Media Editor, Fay Edwards.”
We look forward to a flourishing working relationship with Tony and Fay in 2020 and beyond.
