On 14th November at 10am, the Alpine Garden Society will make history by running its first virtual AGM since the Society was founded 90 years ago.

Since we are all undergoing another Covid-19 lockdown in the UK, we’ve decided to run the first ever virtual AGM in AGS history.
This will allow the Society to meet Charity Commission demands and stay within the rules set by the UK government.
This year it will be a business-only AGM and we will take your questions via the registration form. To make running the event easier, viewers will be muted throughout the meetings unless we are taking a vote.

The virtual AGM will be taking place at 10am (GMT) on Saturday 14th November 2020. We expect it to last no longer than two hours.

If you’re planning to attend, you will need to download Zoom onto your computer or device before clicking the meeting link that we send you. Instructions are at the bottom of this page.
This year the AGM will be a bit different from normal. Since shows have been unable to go ahead, the usual awards cannot be announced.
We will, however, be announcing the winner of the Lyttel Trophy!
Attendees will also be asked to elect two new trustees to the board.
We will be looking at Society business and discussing questions that AGM attendees believe to be of importance. A full agenda will be sent out in due course.

If you’ve never used Zoom before, you will need to download Zoom onto your computer or other device prior to the meeting. See the instructions below.
Once downloaded, you will be able to enter the meeting simply by clicking on the link that we will send you and entering the password we’ve given you.
You do not need to create a Zoom account or provide any personal details to Zoom to be able to access the service.
However, if you could please enter your full membership name as your display name when prompted, it will help us to keep accurate minutes of who is in attendance!
Step 1: Download Zoom onto your computer or smartphone by visiting this page: https://zoom.us/download and clicking ‘download’ under ‘Zoom client for meetings’.
Step 2: You should see the ‘Zoom installer’ download onto your computer. Click on this and click ‘open’ (or ‘run’ depending on which system you have).
Step 3: You may see a pop up box which asks whether you want to allow Zoom to make changes to the hard drive on your computer. If so, click ‘yes’.
Step 4: Zoom will now install – you will likely see a progress bar. When it reaches 100% the process is complete. Zoom is now installed and you will be able to access our virtual AGM by clicking on the link we send you at the scheduled time and entering the password we’ve given you.
