On 14th November at 10am, the Alpine Garden Society will make history by running its first virtual AGM since the Society was founded 90 years ago.

***UPDATE: The virtual AGM has now been conducted. Members are invited to view the papers that were discussed at the AGM, including the Society’s accounts. You will need to log in first to view the page.***

Since we are all undergoing another Covid-19 lockdown in the UK, we’ve decided to run the first ever virtual AGM in AGS history.

This will allow the Society to meet Charity Commission demands and stay within the rules set by the UK government.

This year it will be a business-only AGM and we will take your questions via the registration form. To make running the event easier, viewers will be muted throughout the meetings unless we are taking a vote.

If you’re a member and would like to attend our AGM, read on!

Time & Place

The virtual AGM will be taking place at 10am (GMT) on Saturday 14th November 2020. We expect it to last no longer than two hours.

To secure your place, please fill out this online form.

The event will be taking place via Zoom.

If you’re planning to attend, you will need to download Zoom onto your computer or device before clicking the meeting link that we send you. Instructions are at the bottom of this page.

Virtual AGM Topics

This year the AGM will be a bit different from normal. Since shows have been unable to go ahead, the usual awards cannot be announced.

We will, however, be announcing the winner of the Lyttel Trophy!

Attendees will also be asked to elect two new trustees to the board.

We will be looking at Society business and discussing questions that AGM attendees believe to be of importance. A full agenda will be sent out in due course.
