This year’s AGM will be a one-day event, and will include a lecture (speaker to be announced). Attendance is free, and includes free access to the museum on the day, but refreshments will be charged for. The meeting will take place in spacious and airy New Guesten Hall.
Members wishing to attend should register their interest by 25 September 2021, as places will be limited, by contacting the office via phone or email.
Those attending the event will have the chance to explore Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, which covers a 19-acre site in Worcestershire. The open-air museum is home to more than 30 buildings and structures that have been rescued and rebuilt in the museum’s grounds. All were at threat of neglect or demolition. The structures include a 15th-century townhouse, a windmill, church and a 1940s prefab house. Avoncroft is also home to a national collection of telephone kioks! Within the grounds is a wildflower garden, wildlife haven and apple and pear orchards containing heritage cultivars.
Please note: the event may become a virtual AGM if restrictions are reimposed, or if insufficient attendees register beforehand. If you have registered, please check for more details on the AGS website closer to date.
