Situated in the north east of India, Sikkim's alpine meadows are home to thousands of varieties of wildflowers.

ITINERARY
 

   DAY 1    

    Flight to Delhi.

    Domestic flight to Bagdogra.                                      

   DAY 2

    Transfer to Darjeeling.

 

   DAY 3

    Heritage Walk. 

    Explore Bhotay Busty Monastery & Tibetan Self Help Centre. 

    Drive to Takvar Tea Factory for tea tasting.

   DAY 4

    Transfer to Gangtok.

    Pass through temperate forests.

   DAY 5

   Sightseeing in Gangtok

   See the Plant Conservatory & Namgyl Institute of Tibetology.

   DAY 6

    Botanising at Tsomgo Lake & Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary.

    Discover rare, endangered ground orchids and rhododendrons.

   DAY 7

    Travel to Lachung

    The base for exploring Yumthang, the Valley of Flowers.

   DAY 8

    Drive to Dambung valley

    Explore the rich forest.

   DAYS 9 -  10                    

    Botanising in Yumthang valley

    (Famous for Rhododendron species)

   DAY 11

    Explore the Yume Samdong area and zero point (Zadong).

 

   DAY 12

    Transfer to Thangu.

 

   DAY 13

    Botanising in Yathang valley

    (See Cypripedium species)

   DAY 14

    Full day in Thangu area.

 

   DAY 15

    Botanising east of Thangu, towards Jachu Valley. 

    (See Arenaria, Saxifraga, GentianaCyananthus & more)

   DAY 16

    Transfer to Gangtok.

 

   DAY 17

    Transfer to Kalimpong

    Botanising en route.

   DAY 18

    Flight to Delhi

    Drive to Agra.

   DAY 19

    Visit Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

 

   DAY 20

    Flight home.
