Dave Philby has been running a long-term project to breed yellow Alpine Primula hybrids. His notes say:
1970: The only small yellow was 'Blairside Yellow'
1980: Brian Burrow raised 'Lismore Yellow' which caused a stir throughout the Primula world.
1990: I had by now acquired five. They lit up the Primula bench and I resolved to breed more.
2000: I had about twenty that showed promise.
2010: I now have a wide selection undergoing long-term evaluation. This is a small sample.
