Wisley AGS Show 2018 - Instructions for Exhibitors
These notes are to inform you how the organisation of the new show at RHS Wisley will work. For those of you with longish memories it’s a little like Malvern only different!
The show will be in the Hillside events centre and a marquee on the flat area outside it. Access will be via the vehicle gate to the left of the visitor centre.
NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE YOUR AGS MEMBERSHIP CARD WITH YOU OR YOU WON’T GET IN. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO ANYONE TRAVELLING WITH YOU.
Now some details.
Access. As this is a large public garden no vehicles will be allowed on site while the gardens are open to the public.
Entry on Saturday morning will be by timed convoys from the gate to the show hall (route in red on map below). Once there you must immediately unload your plants and be ready to take your car back to the car park, where a parking area will be designated for exhibitors’ cars. We need to be strict about this and the next group of vehicles can’t get in until the previous batch have left (it’s a narrow road). The planned times will be given to you when you phone/email your entries to the Show Secretary but it will be something like 7am, 7.40am, 8.10am. ALL VEHICLES WILL HAVE TO BE OFFSITE BEFORE 9am.
Having parked your car you may return on foot to complete staging your plants.
The RHS are equipping exhibitors with badges so their staff know who should be on site out of hours and to ensure you have access after parking your car to get back to the exhibition hall.
Catering. We will endeavour to have tea/coffee available in the morning at least until the on-site catering facilities have opened for the day.
THE END! The show will formally close at 5.30pm but no vehicles will be allowed on site until 6pm. So at 5.30pm you will be able to gather/pack your plants and then return to your car ready for entry when the RHS deem it safe to allow entry - just like the arrangements were at Malvern.
We are hoping one single big convoy will be permitted but this means being considerate and not expecting to get parked right outside the door.
