Seed Exchange - Picking Restarted January 2010
Thank you for your support
Picking restarted on Monday 4th January after the longer than usual Christmas - New Year break. All the donor orders received to date have been completed and we are well underway processing non-donor orders at an average rate of 90 per day. Any donor orders that arrive late are processed and picked first each day.
We will be picking into late January this year as we have been delayed by snow and we have had to cancel journeys to Pershore for several days.
Hopefully we will be back soon as we have a large quantity of orders again this year, with a large take up of the online ordering system.
A big thank you to all donors, packers, pickers and any other volunteers who have helped make this year such a success.
Orders waiting to be picked
All orders are processed and picked strictly in the order of the day on which they were received.
Pickers hard at work
The cold weather this year has meant there has not been any difficulty keeping the picking room cool for the seeds. Pickers have had to find all their thermals and extra layers to keep fingers nimble enough to pick the correct seeds. Extra tea and coffee breaks have helped too.
Packing Extra Seed
Due to extra demand for certain species we are repacking additional seed as needed whenever it is available, so that more of you can have your first choices.
