AGS book shortlisted for Garden Media Guild Award

 

An Alpine Garden Society book has been honoured at the Garden Media Guild Awards, the so-called gardening 'Oscars'. 

Meconopsis for Gardenerspublished by the AGS in May in collaboration with The Meconopsis Group, was shortlisted as a finalist in the Reference Book of the Year category. 

The book's Editor in Chief was Dr. Christopher Grey-Wilson. It was designed and produced by AGS Editor John Fitzpatrick and it includes contributions from many leading growers of Meconopsis. 

The GMG awards is one of the biggest events in the horticultural calendar, attracting entries from the country's leading gardening writers, broadcasters and trend-setters. This year saw a record number of entries. 

Christine McGregor, AGS Director, said: 'It is a great credit to everyone involved in the production of Meconopsis for Gardeners that it was shortlisted for this award. It recognises the fact that the AGS produces high-quality books and publications, and we are extremely proud of our publishing output and capabilities.' 

The Awards were hosted at the The Savoy in London by Gyles Brandreth.
