Distinguished from the superficially similar Crocus kotschyanus subspecies by the absence of yellow in the throat and the long white style branches.

*Buyer beware!   Crocus kotschyanus var leucopharynx was offered under this name in commerce for many years.   This mistake may still be perpetuated.
