Jankaea heldreichii
This plant is a member of the Gesneriaceae family. A renowned group of plants that like limestone and shade. Jankaea in its natural habitat grows in the limestone shady crevices on Mount Olympus where it is a protected plant. In the garden
I decided to let it free and try it in the garden. I was lucky enough to obtain some plants that had been raised from seed, six of these I planted on the NE facing face of tufa rock that is landscaped into a raised bed. They have taken off, they are never covered and are now flowering, an extremely rewarding experience.
