Semi desert, rocky places in steppe vegetation

Distinctive Features

Flower shades of lilac, petals often narrow. Corm tunic finely netted fibres with long fibrous neck

Closest Relatives

Crocus pallasii pallasii;

Crocus pallasii dispathaceus;

Crocus pallasii haussknechtii

Cultivation Requirements

Protection advised away from native region. Long warm dry summer rest required

Availability

Occasionally in specialist/society seed lists

Rather similar to subspecies pallasii but often with narrower petalled flowers.   Of botanical interest rather than horticultural merit!
