GOLD MEDAL AT SOUTHPORT

Members of the South Lancs Group of the AGS, led by Brian Russ, have achieved another success with their Gold Medal Winning exhibit at the Southport Flower Show. The theme of the exhibit was ‘music’ and the Group adopted an innovative approach by incorporating sections with musical connotations such as ‘Rolling Stones’ featuring alpine plants in a scree composed of round rocks suitable for rocky conditions and ‘Blues’ starring blue-flowered alpines such as Campanula, Isotoma, Cyananthus and Gentiana. It also featured a miniature grand piano with a lid planted as a roof garden. Hearty congratulations to Brian and his team.
