In bloom in the AGS Garden: May 2018
Following the wonderfully sunny May Day bank holiday, the plants in our Pershore garden are looking lovely.
Here are a few of our favourites this month:
Camassia leichtlinii caerulea
Though certainly not easy to pronounce, this plant is a beautiful addition to the alpine garden. Masses of star-shaped, dark blue flowers grow on tall stems. This plant likes to be in the sun and prefers a moist, well-drained soil. Typically flowers April - May. Find more information on Camassia leichtlinii.
Daphne calcicola ‘Gang Ho Ba’
This is a low-growing evergreen bush that grows up to 50cm tall (occasionally higher). Striking clusters of bright yellow flowers emerge in May - June. Read more about D. calcicola.
Scattered throughout the AGS garden, these deep blue, trumpet-shaped flowers add a rich burst of colour to the garden. G. acaulis is an evergreen perennial which flowers in late spring/ early summer.
