AGS members invited to planting days at RSPB Haweswater
AGS members are invited to support the next stage in our Mardale Mountain Meadow project. The project is a joint venture with the RSPB to restore native alpine plants to RSPB Haweswater in the Lake District.
As the project develops, the site will show visitors many of the beautiful wild plants that are currently restricted to steep craggs and guilles. Many of the plug plants that will be planted have been grown by our members from seed collected from the local area.
2018 Planting Days
The Haweswater team would like to invite AGS members to take part in two planting days later in the year. All details are below:
Thursday 20 September - plug planting
Thursday 6 December - tree/shrub planting
Instructions: Meet at 10am at Mardale Head car park (at the southern end of Haweswater).
Bring sturdy footwear, gloves, waterproof clothing and a packed lunch. RSPB will provide all the tools, plants and direct the work on the day.
