South Wales AGS Local Group
Who Are We?
We are a small and very friendly group of gardening enthusiasts with a love of small plants who just happen to live in South Wales. Members' interests range from tiny patios to gardens of several acres which are planted with everything from trees and shrubs to small ferns, bulbs and alpines.
What Does the Group Offer?
Monthly meetings between September and March at Pencoed College. We meet at 19:00, for a 19:15 start, on either a Friday or a Wednesday. Here you can:
- Listen to a talk by a well known expert
- Purchase plants from fellow members
- Chat to everyone there to swap experiences and plants
- Participate in a plant raffle
Garden visits are organised on some weekends in summer. This is a great opportunity for a chat and a cup of tea and to admire the skills of our members in all aspects of gardening with unusual plants.
The year achieves its peak at the South Wales Show held in Caerleon in February. This is the first national show of the annual calendar and attracts exhibitors from all over the UK. It is entirely run by members of the Group.
Where Do We Meet?
Pencoed College is just north of the M4 at junction 35. Go straight over the first roundabout and turn right at the next. This is the college entrance and goes straight into the car park. We meet in Room 15, which is in the building on the left hand side.
How Much Does It Cost?
- £6 for a family
- £4 for an individual
Your first meeting is free so come and try us out! A warm welcome is given to new members. We would love to meet you so please give Rannveig a call.
