Members were saddened to hear that Paul Street died on November 9th 2016 after period of severe illness. Paul was a past chairman of the Derby group and a regular attender of meetings of the Nottingham group. He frequently exhibited at the Loughborough and Bakewell shows. My last conversation with him was at the first Bakewell show which being in the summer attracts a different range of plants than the early spring shows. I was particularly impressed by Paul’s six pans of cacti, all in flower. Paul was rather pleased that they were admired as some people don’t really see them as alpines.
The Nottingham Group send their commiserations to Paul's family. He will be missed.
