North Wales Group of the Alpine Garden Society
Welcome to our home page. We are a group based in North Wales interested in all aspects of Alpine plants from around the world. Due to our location we, of course, have a in particular interest in our own native wild Welsh alpine flora.
The group was formed in 1977. The members range from experienced alpine growers and exhibitors to keen amateur gardeners. We run a programme of lectures through the winter months (September to March) which are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month starting at 7.30pm at Talgai Community Hall, Llandygai, Bangor, LL57 4HU. Speakers at the meetings include alpine experts, nursery owners, and experienced alpine travellers.
During the Summer month we hold a series of events. This includes out annual Plant Show in April also held at Talgai Community Hall.
For full details of our current programme please follow the Programme of Meetings link on the right.
Annual Membership subscription of the group is £6 for individuals and £9 for couples. There is usually a £2 charge on the door at lecture events with the exception of the Len Beer and the AGM where there is no charge.
