SLACK TOP ALPINE GARDEN: This naturalistic garden, begun in 1980 and spanning approximately a quarter acre, has a beautiful setting overlooking moors and woodland. It features rock and scree beds, a 100ft planted wall, ponds, an indoor rockery plus many interesting containers and troughs. The season is late high in the Pennines, so the garden is often at its best between May and August. Most of the plants growing in the garden are also for sale in the adjoining nursery.
Accessibility – please note that the garden is on a slope with stone paths and steps, so unfortunately not all of it is easy to access in a wheelchair, but the nursery owners will make every effort to assist.
