Iris bakeriana

A reticulate, better in the house but grow outside.

Iris bakeriana
Scoliopus biglowii
Scoliopus biglowii

A trillium relative which I have lost in the open garden a couple of times though it should be reasonably easy in a sheltered, cool, shady spot in humous rich soil.

Marginally hardy, Arum hygrophilum

A few South Africans from the extensive collection at Wisley

Finally a couple of gems

No apologies for posting this Helleborus thibetanus already shown on the Hellebore species thread.

Finally a couple of gems
Lastly a very rare little Eranthis pinnatifida

Very slow to increase, sets virtually no seed and the rhizome does not take kindly to division.

Lastly a very rare little Eranthis pinnatifida

Flowers 2cm across on a short stalk. From Japan where it grows in montane woodland. Worth seeking out.

That's all for now.

The Alpine house at Wisley is worth a visit, any time especially now as the spring season is just getting started.
