Judith, I am by no means an expert but I sowed seeds of Paeonia broteri on 16 June last year and have had good germination. I followed my usual practice and sowed them in a 9cm square plastic pot in JI No. 2 plus grit and sand. Covered the seeds with a sprinkling of compost, topped them with grit, parked them in an open frame and left them to it.

I also sowed P. delavayi angustiloba, P. delavayi lutea and P. liphophila on the same day and they have all germinated.

Of course it might be beginner's luck!!
