Seed, fast and slow

Wild collected seed, Primula sp. Yunnan, AGS Seed List No.59, donated by Dieter Zschummel, sown 1/11, was pricked out five weeks ago and is making robust progress. I consider this somewhat early by any standard. Last year, I struggled to bring on Primula reidii, sown 12/09, AGS seed list No., 4697. It was just languishing in the pot, so I pricked it out on 24/6/10 in the hope that I might bring it on before the winter. Of six seedlings, one has survived and is now flowering. Any ideas on how to bring on backward seedlings
