I got some bulbs from Wisley many years ago. They flower in a large pot in the greenhouse given a warm, dry summer rest. They are prone to become congested and split into many smaller bulbs. Annual repotting probably best to avoid this. Perhaps I let them get too dry in winter and this encourages splitting? Perhaps they need more feeding to encourage stronger bulbs. I also raised them from home produced seed but these plants were no different in their tendancy to split. Tried outside they slowly dwindled away, too wet and not ot enough in summer.

that should be Hot not 'ot!
