Does anyone know of a supplier of Arctostaphylos alpinus (alpine bearberry).

Arctostaphylos alpinus

The Alpine Bearberry is supposed to be very difficult to grow, so I doubt if it is easy to acquire. In the latest edition of 'The Rock Garden', that doyen of Ericaceae growers, Barry Starling, discusses it and suggests that in recent years it has become even more difficult, and says that he has lost it. Possibly, he was your last hope. This is a shame, as of all dwarf shrubs, it possibly has the best autumn colour, turning the acidic mountains of the far north of Scotland a glowing red.
