Thanks very much John. Did you have an opinion on the other primula (13th picture with Arenaria ?edgeworthiana)? This was near Gorak Shep once considered as Everest Base Camp

Many thanks. I do not know how I missed the comment on Everest trekkers in your book! I photographed at least 6 examples along the Khumbu glacier at about 5100m. Re cultivation they were mostly in sunbaked positions on near vertical banks, though of course we were lucky with the sun on that day.

Just for good measure another example of this plant. On that day the sun would have been intense for about 4 hours, then cloud would move in by the afternoon, probably freezing at night.
