P. macrophylla

P.megalocarpa

P.obliqua: only on the Chele La

P.rebeccae: Described by John Richards in the March 2004 edition of the Plantsman. Evidently it has a very limited distribution, so we were fortunate to see relatively large amounts of it. Tim Lever has mapped the locations.

George Sherriff?s picture captioned ?Primula flagellaris? on page 135 of ?A Quest of Flowers? looks remarkably like P. rebeccae and does not appear to have the ?long leafless flagellate stolons? from which P.flagellaris gets its name. These are very well shown in Toshio Yoshida?s ?Himalayan Plants Illustrated? on page 281 which also shows P.flagellaris as annulate with a yellow eye (neither of which are apparent in the QOF picture). Fletcher describes Sherriff?s find as ?blue-violet with a touch of red and with a white eye? which more closely resembles P. rebeccae than Yoshida?s pictures of P. flabellata.

Surprisingly, P. rebeccae also bears a resemblance to Yoshida?s picture of P. spathulifolia on page 293 of HPI, photographed south-east of Makalu in Nepal, though not to John Richards? photograph of the same species in ?Primula?.

Here are a couple of habitat shots

P. sappharina

P. sikkimensis: var. sikkimensis found on the Chele La and var. hopeana abundant elsewhere.

P. tanneri ssp. napaulensis: photographed by Alan & Chris Oatway on 6th July (Yaksa to Thongbu Shong), so I hope they will post the pictures.

P. tenuiloba

P. tibetica

P.waddellii
