Erigeron karvinskianus combines brilliantly with Teucrium fruticans (though my photograph doesn't do this justice); and there are individual plants that stimulate such as Rose 'Rhapsody in Blue' (long flowering and healthy in the garden); Silene fimbriata (a species which always makes you look twice!) and a fascinating blue sedge whose name escapes me (but there are many such species, especially from N. America), which has a golden-orange cast to many of the leaves echoing the colours in adjacent plants. This is not the garden of out and out alpine enthusiasts, but certainly the garden of those with a strong sensitivity to plants in general, which is an inspiration to all of us in the Group.
