A look at various plants in our garden this spring

And finally two plants that are effectively growing in deep sand and grit. Triteliea ixioides which has seeded generously and like many alliums provides welcome colour into the summer, when many bulbs have done their thing. And the amazing glowing orange of Erysimum wheeleri. This is a curious plant - initially forming a small neat rosette and on flowering throwing up a strong metre tall stem topped with these glowing flowers. Probably not a plant that will appeal to many gardeners, but the colour of the flowers really is tremendous.
