Tropaeolum peregrinum

The Canary Creeper seeds I sowed in the spring have produced a few flowers, but it has been a battle to keep the slugs off them.

Tigridia pavonina

Last but not least, the tigridias have started flowering.

I keep the pot dry and frost-free in the garage over winter, then re-pot in March and move to the greenhouse, before moving outside when the frosts are past.

It is a pleasure to see the colour in your garden, Jon- even if tinged with regret that I cannot get the smaller Agapanthus to establish here. I'm not sure why; there are gardens nearby with the large hyrids doing quite well.

My sympathies with the slug and snail attacks - I cannot remember a year when there have been so many hungry molluscs around. I'm hoping the trend will reverse next year.
