Following a traumatic turn of events on the SRGC's Forum and on the recommendation of John Humphries (thanks John) I'm starting here as a new contributor to the On-line Discussion. My name is Lesley Cox and I joined the AGS in 1961, my first contact being a wonderful letter (which I still have) from the late Roy Elliott who immediately made me feel at home. E.B. Anderson also wrote to me and both men plied me with seed and plants (when it was easier to import) to encourage a (then) very young member. I've never ceased to be grateful to both gentlemen. Though the seasons are reversed, I'd like to post pictures from time to time, of plants in flower here, in New Zealand. Weldenia candida has always done well for me and on one memorable day last year I had 165 flowers out at once.

Hi Lesley, good to have your contributions here.

I used to have Weldenia candida but the best I ever had it was about how yours is showing in this photograph.

165 flowers open at once sounds fantastic. If you have a picture of it as it was then and within the last 12 months, (1st October 2005-25th December 2006) then it will qualify as an entrant in the On-line Show...see to the left... I'm sure we would all love to see it in its full glory.

Wow! That is an amazing plant. Congratulations Derek. How old is it?
