The Roy Elliott Memorial Lecture will take place on 19 November 2011 at 2pm at the Holy Name Parish Centre, Great Barr, Birmingham. The lectures this year are by Cliff Booker: Alpines in Focus and Peter Korn of Sweden: Building for Growing. There will be plant sales including a nursery stall from Jacques Amand. Sounds like another good day out in Birmingham - hope everyone enjoys the day - will be thinking of the happy get-together enjoying those talks.
Thanks to the Birmingham Group for organising another interesting day of lectures. They also have plans for a one-day conference on 28 January 2012 - details are in the Newsletter.
The Roy Elliott Memorial Lecture day went very well yesterday. We had two brilliant (and very different) lectures:
Cliff Booker who dazzled us with his amazing photographs mainly of his favourite Dolomites,
and Peter Korn who amazed us by showing us how he has built (and continues) to build his rock garden. I thoroughly recommend both lecturers.
Thanks to the lecturers and also to everyone who came along, especially those who made the journey from distant places.
