Plantsman's garden, Plants and refreshments sold for charity

As part of the National Gardens Scheme, Jolyon & Phyllis Lea have been opening their garden one or two weekends in April for the past 25 years.

After 25 years they have decided to make this their last year.

Their chosen charity is Bethany Village the Leprosy society, and the money they make on plant sales and teas goes to this worthwhile cause every year.

Last year they had over 200 people through the gate and hope to do as well this year with 8-900 alpines for sale on the day.

The teas and cakes sell equally well and it makes for an excellent day out, whatever the weather, Jolyon's garden is always worth spending at least an hour looking round as his corner plot plantsman's garden hosts over 2000 species and varieties of rare and interesting plants.
