Thanks for posting these so quickly after the show.

Looks like there were some wonderful Daphnes there.

John,

There were literally loads of Daphnes.

About 6 different forms of D. petraea.

Robin White put six enormous pots of Daphne on the bench for a 6 'pan' (!!!) class, which won allsorts of accolades, but the light in that corner of the hall was very bad. The 'official photographs' will probably do his exhibit full credit.

Sounds wonderful. I saw the note from Diane last night that Robin was going to be there but unfortunately due to prior engagements, I could not make today's show, I'm sure that six pan alone would have been worth the trip.

AGS MIDLAND SHOW - KNOWLE, SOLIHULL 18th APRIL 2009

Many thanks Giles for your early contributions to this topic and very nice to meet you today at the show.

The Midland Show proved another superb event in a very consistent spring and summer. Hearty congratulations to John Harrison, Diane Clement and everyone involved with this tremendous event. The day started cool and cloudy, but the sun came out after lunch and the hall was bathed in sunlight and colour all afternoon. The Farrer Medal went to 'the daphne king'; Robin White with a spectacular ... daphne!

Birthday greetings to John Dower and Tony Lee (pictures to follow) and congratulations to all the exhibitors for a beautiful array of plants.

Lots more images to follow when time and tide allow ...
