Potentilla atrosanguinea

On the other side of the path were patches of this lovely potentilla.

Lilies

The potentillas were interplanted with a mass of lilies, still in bud.  They must look fantastic by now.

Lilies

Behind the lilies, a Kalmia, and a legume of some sort.

Also in this bed, another umbellifer which occurred in both white and pale pink forms; where is Tim Ingram when you need him ?

Geranium Ann Folkard

Also a geranium with a mass of coloured foliage and tiny pink flowers.

Rehmannia elata

Reaching the corner of the walled garden, there was a shady area with another large clump of Rehmannia.

Asiatic primulas

Further into the cool shade there was a large drift of asiatic primulas.

Cistus salviifolius Prostratus

As the bed curled into the sun there was a nice plant of this cistus.
