Failure to flower

I have had this plant (Bodnant form) for some years but cannot get it to flower. It will produce a few buds but by mid autumn these will all have aborted. As a plant it is healthy and growing well (in a sufficiently sized pot)in well drained acid compost and other conditions as required by rhodos generally. Rhodo text books don't seem too helpful in specifying its likes and dislikes. Does anyone have experience of this plant please, or can anyone suggest where I may be going wrong?
