Should the hypertufa trough be separated from the growing medium?

Hello everyone,

I recently constructed a large hypertufa trough and I would like to grow ericaceous plants in it. Is it necessary to separate the growing medium from the hypertufa to prevent lime leaching through?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul, I agree with Maggi on the SRGC but I'm patient, leave it to weather a bit in this lovely Autumn weather just to be sure

Hi Martin,

thanks for your reply.

It has indeed been benefitting from the fine autumn weather for about a week now but I think that I'll wait a couple more weeks to be sure.

Thanks again,

Paul
