Hi

Here are a few plants submitted for consideration by the JRGC at the show in Vincent Square yesterday. All these plants were exhibited by the Director, RBG Kew, and brought up to the show by Kit Strange. I am afraid there were no snowdrops this year; all frozen in the ground by the cold snap which has just eased.

First to be photographed, Gillesia graminea from Chile.

Iris reticulata

Next, this rather nice clone of Iris reticulata from Armenia.

Androcymbium greuterocymbium

Another unusual bulb from South Africa

Iris stocksii

Collected recently in Afghanistan.

See the SRGC site for full details of the story.

Crocus rujanensis

From Serbia

Finally, two celmisias from New Zealand

Thanks again to RBG Kew and to Kit in particular for bringing these plants up to the show.

I am not sure what awards were given; having finished the photography, I left before the committee had finished assessing them, lugging my heavy bag of photography gear back to Waterloo.
