Show Photographs from Harlow
Thanks to David for posting the images above, which capture the show in better light than I remember having for most of the day.
One of the dominant themes was snowdrops, often past their best by this show, but this year in their full glory. I should have photographed more of them, but it was hard to select the best; my personal favourite is G. plicatus Sophie North, which appeared in several classes, but I feel it would be hard to improve on the picture I took two years ago of Don Peace's potful. This year the two awards given by the judges were both to yellow forms of Galanthus nivalis.

exhibited by Don Peace at the Early Spring Show 2008, and again in 2010
Galanthus nivalis Sandersii Group
winning a Certificate of Merit for Rosina Abbiss
Galanthus nivalis Sandersii Group
exhibited as G. nivalis lutescens, winning Best Bulb in Beginners or Intermediate Section for Ruth and Alan Jones.
Galanthus Corrin
exhibited by Bob and Rannveig Wallis
Spring bulbs dominated the benches everywhere. The crocuses were wonderfully fresh, but hard to capture with the camera before they closed up in response to the dismal light and rain outside. Jim McGregor was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Crocus etruscus (see the Show Gallery), and also brought a lovely C. x jessopae which had closed again before judging had finished and photography started.

Crocus vernus neapolitanus

This looks, at least superficially, very much like the plant exhibited at Caerleon as C. reticulatus.
Crocus kosaninii
exhibited by Ian Robertson
