Primula malvacea

John Richards also brought this primula for the New and Rare class.

Primula malvacea
Aphyllanthes monspeliensis

Chris Bowyer exhibited one of my favourite plants.  I grew this for many years in a sunny position on the top of my rock garden, but it got overgrown eventually and I lost it; I haven't been able to replace it.

Sedum oxypetalum

Not what you normally expect to see in the sedum classes - also from Chris Bowyer.

Kalmia myrtifolia

John Savage exhibited two Kalmias, which were admired by many of the visitors.

Kalmia Minuet

The second Kalmia exhibited by John Savage, admired by the public but not to all the judges' taste, though it won its class.  One described it to me rather disparagingly as 'like a Sweet William'.  Well, I like Sweet Williams!

Leptospermum scoparium Kiwi

The Ralph Haywood Memorial Trophy for the best shrub went to Michael Sullivan for this Leptospermum.

Allium crispum

I always admire this allium, here exhibited by Tommy Anderson.  It makes fabulous photos.

Allium crispum
Rhodohypoxis Midori

I took the opportunity to photograph my own pan of R. Midori, though once again I went home with two seconds and no firsts.

Arisaema ciliatum subsp liubaense

Peter Farkasch was awarded a Certificate of Merit for this Arisaema (runner-up for best in show), exhibited under the name A. erubescens.
