Sand Beds

I was amazed Paul by the interesting things that Wisley is growing in sand beds, all of which looked very desirable (even irrestistable in the case of the cactus, what a dreadful thing!) and some of which I had never heard of. What you didn't say, in so many words, was whether all these subjects had overwintered outside without protection?

Hi John,

Thanks for your comments. The beds are covered for the winter, as you can see in Sand Beds Part 2 just posted today (Log 52, 16 July). I doubt many of the plants would survive without this protection from winter wet
