John. Many years ago I heard a lecture on growing Fuchsia's and this grower ground up Moth Balls in his compost to help stop the dreaded vine weevil. If I done this I would finish up grinding half my thumb away. So what I have done for a long time now is to put Moth Balls around my plants in the Alpine Houses, they just fit into a plastic cloths peg, and I just push them in the plunge about 2ft apart, they are very cheap to buy, £1 a box here. They are good for keeping all aphids, green fly, vine weevil, etc at bay. I would not be with out them. Best Wishes David Hoare.
