Petiolarid primulas

John, you are not the only one who used to grow petiolarids quite well (though never, I hasten to add, as well as you), and who now finds them very difficult to keep, let alone grow satisfactorily. I had put my difficulty down to neglect, admitting that I am not so assidupous in attending to their need for frequent division and enhancement of the soil in which they are growing, but perhaps, as you suggest, it is more than that. Certainly I have often noticed the symptoms of what I (perhaps wrongly) assume is one of the mosaic viruses, but some of the plants I have lost appeared healthy enough until they started to 'go back'.
