Narcissus: Germination of Narcissus seed

I have some Narcissus seed on order and I was wondering if members had any tips or tricks they would like to share? I am assuming the seeds will need a gritty compost and some time in the cold. I am also assuming it is best to leave the seedlings in their first post until at least the second season?
Any advice would be welcomed
Lots of advice on germination of narcissus and other bulbs in Ian Young's Bulb Logs, Helen, plus discussion on depth of sowing etc.
Try this one for starters : http://www.srgc.org.uk/logs/logdir/2012Dec121355341766BULB_LOG_5012.pdf
Many dwarf narcissus will flower in only two years from seed, so very satisfying to try.
