Cuzco, Peru 2011
I came across a couple colonies of Haylockia andina/Zephyranthes andina on the mountainsides above Cuzco, Peru at about 3,700m. 14th October 2011. They have not been studied much, so I want to share my pictures.
One colony was on the outer edge of a 'grassy' knoll where we chose to picnic and the other colony on the outer edge of a fortification.

At the second location on the fortification the quality of the flowers (and picture) is not good, but it is possible at least to see the pink bud and flower tube with no visible scape nor leaves.
